Mr. Skeate is a veteran technology manager with over 18 years experience in architecting business information systems. He possesses strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and often employs these skills to balance business and technology viewpoints. Mr. Skeate also possesses a keen analytical thinking and problem solving ability, and has a talent for helping organizations transform complex technical challenges into sound business strategy.
Mr. Skeate has spent the past six years advising CIO- and Director-level information technology executives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has supervised the planning and execution of strategic technology projects in many business sectors including financial services, retail, high-tech, and the managed services industry. His client experiences include numerous Fortune 1000 companies including VERITAS, Bank of America, Moody’s, ABM Industries, and Wells Fargo. In this advisor role he has developed expert know-how of Information Technology best practices and enterprise IT architecture.
Prior to consulting, Mr. Skeate held executive management positions in product development and software engineering, working for an Internet software company in the real estate industry, and a privately-held telecommunications software company. He worked as an engineering manager with Intraware, as a senior software developer with CommerceOne, and was a project manager with a telecommunications software provider. Mr. Skeate developed his passion for problem solving and complexity management early in his career when he worked as a staff scientist doing project work for the US Air Force, NASA, Jet Propulsion Lab, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. During the Internet boom, Mr. Skeate launched a unique voicemail-to-email service receiving recognition from CNET and AOL’s instant messaging user community.
